Beef Stroganoff

Cooking Beef Stroganoff is such a simple and delicious meal that is very easy to make. Funny I don’t really like mushrooms but with the other ingredients the mushroom in the cream is not that strong tasting anyways. But this is so simple with just the meat, noodles and a very simple sauce. Although I have seen onions cooked with the noodles I do not use onions but there is onion powder in there for flavor. Onions just don’t fit with noodle and sauce to me. These ideas are let me realize a few years ago that I have become a cook. Not a Chef but a cook.

I try recipes and change them how I like. I also cook a meal and then try to imagine what I might like a little different in the meal. Now Stroganoff there is not a lot of different styles but there are different recipes. But I would say it is not like chili where every chili is different. And there is a lot more range of ingredients that are used in chili. But what matters is I like Beef Stroganoff and it is easy to make.

How I Cook My Stroganoff

Of course, unlike my Chinese or Italian noodles I cook my noodles in the sauce pan. Start with the noodles and a little water enough to keep noodles covered. #-5 minutes then i drain water and add the sauce to cook with the noodles While I am cooking the noodles you brown the ground beef. Now I know I might write my cooking in an ingredient order or step by step but I’m writing about my meal as much as the recipe.

Simple Recipe:

  • 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can fat-free condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup sour cream

I ground my beef in the pan as the first step. Then Put the noodles in the pan with a little water and bring to a boi; for 3-4 minutes. This seems to make it better timing for the noodles to soften before the sauce gets a slightly burned taste. Like I said this is not a recipe page but just a little mental muse wafting for my baseball playoffs.

After you add the sauce cook until the noodles are soft and sauce is thicker. Remember the sauce wikk thicken while it cools so do not overcook until sauce is too thick before cooling. Let it sit 5 minutes for sauce to thicken and it is ready. I do not eat near as much as i used to so Stroganoff is enough of a meal all alone. But I like corn with mine or some mixed vegetables with a roll or piece of brad and I a happy camper, or kitchen cook. Like I said I’m just trying to get a group of recipes but this was not a step by step recipe. When I write my Jambalaya Hot Dog page that I think I will write it in a step by step recipe.
